In a previous entry, we posted the exclusive track "Battle Hymn for Children," a sobering and mature look at the costs of war, faith and profiteering from a band of New Wave revisionists that used to sing more about sex and discos. So why not follow up with a remix of The Faint’s current single about nerds, dystopias and time travel from Does It Offend You, Yeah? A good question.

"When I saw the future/the geeks were right," claims the refrain from The Faint’s "The Geeks Were Right," the lead-off single from their latest effort Fasciinatiion, due out August 5 from their own label blank.wav. For more on that, check out the previous post. Or better yet, check out the band on its current tour, which hits gorgeous Vancouver on Friday and continues on to America through most of August.

As for the remix, Does It Offend You Yeah? amps up the proceedings nicely, which is one cool thing about the band. The other is that its name comes from a line delivered by Ricky Gervais in not the American simulation, mind you, but the original UK iteration of The Office.

There. You’re all caught up. Turn on, tune in, geek out. It’s Friday.
