Olympus on Monday launched five new cameras, including one that features a special touch-sensitive body to control the camera, which could reduce camera shake.
Though it's sensitive, the $300 Stylus 1050 SW is also designed for rugged activities: It's shockproof, waterproof and freeze-proof, according to Olympus. Similar to Sony's new Cyber-shot cameras, the 10.1-megapixel Stylus 1050 SW also offers smile detection, a mode that only saves photos of a smiling subject.
Olympus also introduced four other cameras: The 10-megapixel, $200
Stylus 1040, which the company claims to be its thinnest camera ever;
the 10-megapixel, $400 Sp-570 UZ, which features shadow adjustment technology and a DSLR-like body; and the 8-megapixel FE-360 and FE-370
point-and-shoot cameras, which run for $150 and $200, respectively.
