Want to contribute to a video for a storied electro-beat duo? Got time to shoot a few seconds of footage and upload it to Google Earth? You might just get your moment in the spotlight, buddy.
Although it is going to be hard to beat The Chemical Brothers' parkour-inspired CGI video for "Midnight Madness," Tom Rowlands and Ed Simons are giving it a try and crowdsourcing visuals in honor of their forthcoming greatest-hits collection Brotherhood, out September 2 from Astralwerks. The duo is asking for fans and any other interested parties to create two to 20 seconds of video inspired by their favorite Chemical Brothers' tracks, then upload and tag the goods to Google Earth by August 25.
Hotshot producers Nexus will collate the cream of the crop and create a groundbreaking global video project that will go live on September 1 and show off the crowdsourced creativity, as well as Google's game-changing geographical software. Everyone wins.
