Brand.net, the first online advertising network focused exclusively on brand advertising, today announced completion of its Series B round of funding.

Two former Yahoo ad executives — Elizabeth Blair and Andy Atherton — started Brand.net last year to handle brand advertisers. In contrast to direct marketers who buy text link advertising — a well-tested source of income in online advertising — Brand.net works with advertisers to run targeted, will-timed campaigns on the web.

Led by Norwest Venture Partners (NVP) with reinvestment from InterWest Partners, Brand.net will use the $10 million to expand its customer base and accelerate its position in the industry.

Brand.net is the latest advertising venture to attract investors in recent weeks. On Thursday, Turn, Inc., an advertising network, raised $15 million in Series C funding led by Focus Ventures with investment from others, including Norwest.
