A compilation of Who songs dubbed "The Best of The Who Rock Band Edition" will appear as downloadable content for the rhythm game in lieu of the earlier-promised Who's Next album.
The pack of 12 songs will retail for $20 and include songs from throughout The Who's history, though notably absent are famous tracks like "Pinball Wizard" or "I Can See For Miles". There are, however, three tracks from the Who's Live At Leeds – the first three live tracks for Rock Band.
Why won't we be seeing the full Who's Next album as originally planned? It seems that the parties in question are having trouble locating the album's master recordings.
As much as I was hoping for Who's Next, at least they didn't opt to release a bunch of horrid covers, right?
Plus, the tracks they are releasing are pretty solid:
- Amazing Journey
- Baba O'Riley
- Behind Blue Eyes
- Eminence Front
- Going Mobile
- Leaving Here
- My Generation (Live version)
- Real Good Looking Boy
- Sea & Sand
- Summertime Blues (Live version)
- Who Are You
- Young Man Blues (Live version)
As usual with these en masse releases, fans are able to purchase all the tracks at once or individually for $2 per track.
