Publisher Namco/Bandai seems to be rescuing the ailing Hellgate: London after a number of layoffs at developer Flagship and the shuttering of the game's subscription service.

Namco/Bandai senior business development director Zack Karlsson appeared in the Hellgate: London forums recently, urging players not to worry for the future of their game.

"I know everyone is looking for an announcement, and we'd love to make one – but right now, many things are in flux and we don't have all the information yet," Karlsson wrote.

"In the short term, please do not worry. The game is up, the servers are not going away in the short term and any major changes to status will be communicated in advance."

There is no word on whether Namco/Bandai's aid will have any effect on the status of Flagship's other MMO, the recently shelved Mythos.
