Roughly 94 percent of adult cable or satellite subscribers prefer to watch TV on a proper television set instead of their computers, according to a study conducted by Nielsen -- and commissioned by the Cable & Telecommunications Association for Marketing (CTAM).

Okay, we get it. CTAM wants us to know that TV is still a viable medium. Fine. But it's also worth mentioning that the average median age of a TV viewer is now 50, according to a Media Insights report. The only network with a median age under 35 is CW, and they're struggling to keep a 3 household share, says Steve Sternberg, who wrote the report. Meanwhile, television ratings are sucking wind, TV shows are downloaded by the millions and streaming is gaining remarkable momentum.
