NBC unveiled its grand plan for online Olympic coverage, and it's pretty comprehensive.
The network has planned content optimized for mobile devices, MSN and Telemundo. There will be blogs and widgets; an Olympic Quick Pick Fantasy game and an Olympic trivia game, not to mention a library of athlete bios and event photos. The one thing it's missing, however, is live streaming coverage.
The network says it plans on streaming 25 sports live on NBCOlympics.com, but we suspect that will include events like Yoga. The real juicy stuff, according to one report, won't get to the web until it's been televised.
"No events that are scheduled to be televised will be available online until after they are seen on TV," Perkins Miller, senior vice president for digital media at NBC Sports, recently told the Associated Press.
