Mythos
*, the second MMO from Hellgate: London creators Flagship Studios has hit a bit of a snag, resulting in the game's private beta servers being shut down indefinitely.
This news comes two weeks after Flagship diplomatically confirmed an employee shakeup that saw a "significant" number of developers laid off.
Flagship has revealed that Mythos is currently on hiatus, though the company offered no details on when this hiatus would end or what was the true, root cause of the title's developmental suspension.
Prior to the game's servers closing, Flagship COO Max Schaefer offered seemingly grim comments on the game's forums.
"PC gaming is changing, and I believe we’ve had a sneak preview with Mythos. With any luck, this will not be a long hiatus, and Mythos will be back. But even if it’s not, and even if we all move on, we’ve taken a lot of important steps forward," Schaefer said.
"The great Mythos dev team, nor myself are planning on doing anything but make games into the future. So no matter what, we’ll pick up where we left off, and you’ll be hearing from us shortly."
