Update: U.S. fans will be glad to hear that they too are now able to sign up for the beta through the official World of Warcraft page.
European World of Warcraft fans were surprised to find a new option added to the game's account management screen this morning: The ability to opt-in to the upcoming Wrath of the Lich King beta, reports fansite World of War.
The option doesn't guarantee a spot in the beta, but instead enters player's names into a metaphorical hat from which beta testers will be drawn, presumably in the near future.
As of three minutes ago, the same option was nowhere to be found in American accounts. We've contacted Blizzard to determine why our European brethren got first crack at this thing, but have yet to hear back.
