Entrepreneurs eager to capitalize on the popularity of *The Dark Knight *are turning to sites like eBay and Craigslist to try to scalp movie tickets.
With hundreds of screenings sold out, fans anxious to be among the first to watch *Dark Knight Friday *might be willing to pay double or triple the asking price for a highly coveted opening night seat, especially at IMAX theaters.
Craigslist posts are asking for as much as $100 per seat. Some eBayers are also trying to sell tickets for showings during the sold-out opening weekend, although they seem to be having limited success.
In a statement released Thursday, online ticket retailer Fandango said The Dark Knight has sucked up 94 percent of the site's sales, noting: "We expect Friday to be our biggest ticket-selling day in company history."
Advance box office sales for Christopher Nolan's Batman Begins sequel have been brisk, with some theaters adding early morning showings in an attempt to meet demand.
