It's official: City of Heroes developer Cryptic Studios is now behind the creation of Star Trek Online, and it will show the first gameplay footage of its latest MMO next month.
The big reveal will take place on the last day of the annual Star Trek Convention in Las Vegas: Sunday, August 10. Cryptic promises gameplay footage and details about how the MMO will work.
If you're not in Vegas for the con, you'll be able to watch a live webcast.
The development of Star Trek Online has been what you'd call troubled: Originally in development at Perpetual Entertainment, the game was snatched back by CBS earlier this year. At that time, it was already being rumored that Cryptic, the leading independent maker of MMO games, had been given the license.
