Charter Communications, whose customer service is often ranked among the worst of consumer services, is trying to buy some love through a "National Customer Appreciation Program."

The program, called "Live it With Charter," lets customers earn loyalty points which can be redeemed on prizes and services, such as clothes, HD television sets and vacations.

"The Live It with Charter program is all about our customers," said Phil Bellaria, vice president of customer loyalty, in a prepared statement. "We are committed to offering our customers great value and exceptional service. With this program, we are also offering them the opportunity to win unbelievable trips and prizes . . ."
