Apple has made significant inroads in the corporate market, says Yankee Group. Roughly 80 percent of the IT administrators and C-level executives who participated in a survey said there are Macintosh computers or machines running OS X on their networks.

Other findings:

  • 34 percent of those surveyed said they plan to increase the number of Macintoshes and OS X 10.x within 6 to 12 months.
  • 49 percent of those who said they weren't likely to expand their
    Macintosh usage mainly complained about the lack of enterprise management tools and problems with service and support.
  • 78 percent rated the reliability of the Macintosh desktop and server hardware and OS X 10.x as excellent or very good.
