Champions Online* , Cryptic Studios' upcoming superhero MMO, is full of interesting ideas, as evidenced by the latest area profile and concept art release on the game's official site.
According to the adorably in-character first person description of the place, Snake Gulch was a Western-themed robotic park, designed to "give all your tourist folk a chance to play the 1864 way."
Of course, it has since fallen into disrepair and the corrections facility for supervillains nearby doesn't exactly help the resale value.
It may be lifted wholesale from a Michael Crichton novel, but Snake Gulch is a very cool, original concept in the MMO space. Ideas like this are why it's becoming more and more difficult to wait patiently for Champions Online's 2009 release window.
