How many can you name?

In December 2007, for the first time, Google's survey found that there were more web pages encoded in Unicode than in any other encoding. ASCII, of course, had been the dominant one till then.

The latest version of Unicode, 5.1.0, was launched in March 2008. This version adds 1,624 new characters, including the much-demanded Carian, Lycian, and Lydian scripts, and the Phaistos disc symbols; as well as other new features itemized in the linked spec.

On its blog, Google is patting itself on the back that it supports 5.1.0 so soon after its launch. All you who've been searching in Carian, rejoice!
