  • publisher Take-Two has filed suit against the Chicago Transit Authority for pulling ads for the game without providing adequate explanation.

Take-Two's suit accuses the CTA and its sales agent, Titan Outdoor LLC, of violating a $300,000 agreement to run ads for GTA IV on buses and in various display areas throughout the transit system for six weeks between April and June.

According to the suit, the CTA pulled the ads after a local Fox affiliate questioned the propriety of running them in the wake of a series of violent crimes that had plagued Chicago. The ads were pulled just days after they went up.

Take-Two is seeking an order that would compel the CTA to restore the ads, along with at least $300,000 in damages.
