If so, relax -- Spider-man, or at least his "birth certificate," is safe. An anonymous donor gifted the Library of Congress with the original artwork from Marvel Comics' "Amazing Fantasy #15."

Which, as diehard comic buffs know, marks the first print appearance of Spider-Man.

Written by Stan Lee and inked by Steve Ditko, the 24 pages document Peter Parker's legendary transformation from book worm to web-slinging wonder -- and even have traces of liquid correctional fluid and eraser marks.

Check out more photos from the arrival and cataloging of the pages over at the LOC's blog.
