Sony's original plans for its virtual world Home were simply too ambitious and didn't concentrate enough on gamers, according to SCEE president David Reeves.
Home's original vision included non-gaming applications and sponsors, which diverted the project's focus away from the gaming audience, Reeves told CVG.
"So, we're concentrating on the gaming by launching games in Home, and attracting people who are into gaming in first -- instead of the Nike people, or Adidas people who are into fashion and not necessarily into gaming," he said.
During his PlayStation Day keynote, Kaz Hirai announced that Home's release had been pushed back until this Fall, apologizing for the delay. Reeves said Home is "definitely coming out in autumn," but Hirai said it won't be released until he himself is happy with it.
