There were many trailers for The Simpsons Game, and though all poked clever fun at popular videogames, one was so well done that it won the title of Best Videogame Trailer of the Year. No, we didn’t know they gave out awards for trailers, either.
The Medal of Homer trailer won the award at the Golden Trailer Awards last Thursday. It’s the third win in a row for the team responsible for the trailer, Hammer Creative. Last year Hammer won top honors with its trailer for Tom Clancy’s Splinter Cell Double Agent; the year before that, it won the award for its work on the The Godfather: The Game trailer.
There are actually two Medal of Homer trailers, and I’m honestly not sure if Hammer won for one, the other, or a combination of both. I think I personally prefer the second one, if only for the UB40 joke. It’s after the jump, if you care to do a comparison and tell me which one you like better.
