Silicone Sex Lube Heats Things Up!

“Do you smoke after sex?” “I don’t know, I never looked.”

In a recent post, sex blogger Garnet Joyce experiments with lube – but not in the way you think.  In this video, she drops a lit match into a puddle of both water-based Maximus and silicon-based iLube. Watch for the fireworks as the silicon based lube goes up in flames!

While dimethicone — the main ingredient in most silicon lubes — is supposed to be non-flammable, other ingredients might not be so safe.  In this case, the chief culprit is probably cyclomethicone, a highly volatile and flammable silicon oil.

Not every silicon lube contains flammable materials. But Joyce warns that people who play with candle wax during sex, or even those who cook between bouts, might want to be extra careful when using silicon based lubes.  You don’t want that old joke about smoking after sex to become too real.
