Getting it onto App Engine seems as good a reason as any to convert Ruby bytecode to Python. That's why why created Unholy, a compiler that tries to make the two popular languages interconvertible. No longer shall Ruby fanatics be locked out of Google's application hosting.
It's neat, and will be more so if and when it becomes full-featured.
