Nerd extravaganza ROFLCon is heading on a cross-country tour.
Still buzzing from the success of April's first-ever ROFLCon in Cambridge, Massachusetts, the team behind the internet culture conference plans to host a series of one-day events around the United States this summer.
"We haven't quite solidified plans for another big conference next year," said Carrie Anderson, one of the conference organizers, by phone Thursday. "But we wanted to keep the good energy ... and social interaction going."
Anderson said the group plans to throw parties, organize low-key bar takeovers and schedule talks. So far, the schedule tentatively brings the meme party to Chicago and Seattle in July, and San Francisco and New York in August.
The roster of geek guest celebs has yet to be hashed out. Anderson said she's got her eyes set on "everyone from the Weezer video," but that realistically, she's happy to settle for "people who do cool things online."
