From the "nothing is rare anymore" department comes this latest item, a compilation of ultra-rare Stereolab tracks, assembled by someone known as "The Architect" and uploaded to Rapidshare. Although the band was fastidious about releasing rare, colored vinyl singles and rare EPs for collectors to squabble over, the internet has given those rarities the old "loaves and fishes" treatment and now there are enough copies to go around.
The centerpiece of the compilation is the Underground Is Coming EP (7", 33 RPM, 1999, $10 on eBay), which a blog called I Supply The Country With Butter describes as "ridiculously rare." That EP includes "The Super-It," "Fried Monkey Eggs (instrumental and with vocals)" and "Monkey Jelly," while the rest of this non-release is comprised of nine rarities from other points from the latter stage of the band's career.
