Muxtape uploaders can once again whip up online mixes for friends and strangers alike, now that the site is back online. Approximately 15 percent of the mixes created in the past three weeks have disappeared, according to the site's creator, who accepts responsibility for the lost mixes and says he's hiring a couple more software developers to keep an eye on things as Muxtape expands.
Ultimately, this is a small hiccup – it's not as if our banking details were released to Nigerian penpals, a few people just lost their free-to-create mixes. Nonetheless, Oulette thanks users for their "patience and understanding" and notes that going forward, Muxtape's database will be backed up twice a day.
To celebrate the site's reappearance, here's a Listening Post muxtape for Friday (plus two mixes posted earlier):
1. Lesser-played My Bloody Valentine songs (posted 3/25)
2. Songs that might be the perfect length (posted 4/21)
3. Music by bands we've been talking about (new)
