Starting this week, you can download select *Rock Band *tracks for just 80 points each, half the usual asking price.

The savings come courtesy of Harmonix and MTV Games' deal with McDonald's, of all places. From now until May 12th, you can download "Crushcrushcrush," by Paramour, and "Rock 'n' Roll Band," by Boston for the cut price. The schedule for the rest of the tracks is as follows:

  • 5/13/08-5/19/08 : "Shockwave" - Black Tide, "Sugar Magnolia" - Grateful Dead
  • 5/20/08-5/26/08: "We Care A Lot" - Faith No More, "All the Small Things" - Blink 182
  • 5/27/08-6/2/08: "Gimme Three Steps" - Lynyrd Skynyrd, "Dirty Little Secret" - All-American Rejects

The discount is good for both the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 versions of the game. If you've already downloaded those tracks it would appear, for the moment anyway, that you're just out of luck.
