It is my sad duty to inform you that Game|Life East will be shutting its doors, effective immediately, as this is my final day as part of the Game|Life team.
I originally wanted to write something terribly witty and wry for my goodbye post. Something smart, with a hint of insouciance and perhaps a dash of sass. As hard as I tried to put the words together, it never really said what I wanted to say, so I thought I'd just keep it simple, instead. Hope you don't mind.
I truly feel very fortunate to have been able to spend the past year and a quarter as part of this team. I learned a lot, gained a new appreciation for a good night's sleep (oh, how I miss those), and was reminded nearly daily of why videogames and the people who make and play them are so damn awesome.
My fellow Game|Lifers aren't just incredibly knowledgeable, talented writers, they're also really great people. If it weren't for Chris, I might never have tried Professor Layton. If it weren't for Earnest, I wouldn't have that conviction in Nevada. That's a tale for another time, however.
I also wanted to thank you, the readers, for choosing to spend some of your day here in our little corner of the interweb. If it weren't for you, we'd be stuck saying "Oh, hai!" and making jokes about Pokemans to random passersby, and they tend to look at us funny when we do that.
I'll still be in gaming (I'm not allowed to say where yet), so you'll be able to track me down, should you want to.
Thanks, everyone. It's been great. Now go play Psychonauts, dammit.
