After eBay filed a lawsuit against Craigslist last week, 45-year-old Buckmaster said Craigslist wouldn't be able to file a response to eBay's specific allegations for a few weeks. In the meantime, Buckmaster has blogged up a storm on the subject.
Most recently, Buckmaster wrote about how eBay is basically a big wad of hypocrisy. He points out that the things eBay accuses Craigslist of doing illegally (implementing a poison pill, staggering the board and so on) eBay has already done.
"It’s worth pointing out that Ebay is suing us for implementing protections for craigslist that it clearly believes are perfectly appropriate for protecting itself," Buckmaster writes.
(The lawsuit accuses Buckmaster and Craigslist founder Craig Newmark of conspiring to dilute eBay's 25 percent stake in the classified site and kicking eBay off the board.)
