Unsurprisingly, a few of the people participating in the alpha testing for Blizzard's next World of Warcraft expansion, Wrath of the Lich King, have posted classified information on the 'net – an act that Blizzard deems "extremely offensive."

Recently, fans created a Wiki to document the various information leaks coming from those select few already immersed in the expansion.

In reaction, Blizzard's customer service representatives have warned players that linking to such sites, distributing any classified information, or using third-party programs to access Blizzard's unreleased content would lead to swift, permanent bans on their accounts.

Unfortunately for Blizzard, the internet abhors any kind of censorship regardless of the reason, and many have reacted to the company's saber-rattling with further dissemination of sensitive information.

Even more unfortunately, had Blizzard said nothing and merely ignored the issue, players would see it as a sign that they were doing nothing wrong by revealing the WotLK details.

It's a classic "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation, and trying to stuff the cat back into the metaphorical bag after it's already sprinted around the room and climbed behind the couch is only going to lead to further problems, both for Blizzard and its fans.

Feel free to offer your own solutions, but please remember that hiring assassins is both illegal and very expensive.
