Those Tom Clancy games must sell awfully well, because Ubisoft has plans to increase its worldwide staff by 900 or so over the course of the next year.

The new staff will be spread across all of Ubi's studios, with significant growth expected for the Singapore, India and China locations in particular. Ubisoft will also be adding another campus to its studio in Casablanca, Morocco, which may be the coolest location for a game studio ever.

With each week seeming to bring news of yet another game studio closing, such a huge expansion would indicate that Ubisoft, at least, is doing something very right.

According to the company's recently-released financial report, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, Assassin's Creed and the Games for Everyone brand helped Ubisoft bring in $1.32 billion in total sales for fiscal 2007-2008, an increase of 36 percent over the previous year.
