If it seems like it was only yesterday that The Duke Spirit‘s sophomore effort Neptune went into orbit, that’s because it was.

But what are release dates and time windows in the age of downloads anyway? The new flesh is what matters.

In that department, the U.K. band has much to offer. Duke Spirit frontwoman Leila Moss is a happy hybrid of Blondie and Nico, and she delivers spaced-out rock tales of love and loss with a rhythm section weaned on The Jesus and Mary Chain and My Bloody Valentine. As for your own flesh, have The Duke Spirit try to heal it live during their April-May tour, which kicked off last night in Gotham City.

Want to taste their sonics in the meanwhile? Try this video for "The Step and the Walk" on for size. It’s a Motown monster mash built for the catwalk. If they get around to a video for "Send Me a Love Token," I imagine the fanboy contingent will grow exponentially on the spot.
