As exciting as PlayStation Network's redesign may be, it's just one tiny facet of the fantastic offerings that await, according to PSN Senior Vice President Peter Dille.
Dille says Sony's goal is to make the PlayStation Network an "evolving entertainment network where the PlayStation community can gather and discover new forms of entertainment."
Naturally, original games are part of the plan, and Dille says Sony will continue to stress "quality over quantity (in other words, fewer arcade remakes and more original content)." Take that, Xbox Live Arcade!
Although he didn't offer any new details, Dille promised that the PSN's upcoming video service, which will allow users to download TV shows and movies, will "break through the overwhelming clutter of digital media to give you the TV, movies and gaming content you want."
Pleasing the community is high on Sony's "to do" list, as well, including the much-desired in-game XMB, which Dille says Sony is committed to bringing this year.
