Infogrames is counting on upcoming horror title Alone in the Dark to be a bit hit, expecting it to sell "between 2 and 3 million units," according to chief executive David Gardner.
Infogrames, which recently appointed Phil Harrison as president, is the parent company of Alone in the Dark's publisher, the financially underwhelming Atari. Infogrames is counting on the game, which is being released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Wii and PC, to help put its books back in the black.
"We want to stop losing money...This management's team number one goal is to get a business plan together that gets us to a break-even level," said Gardner.
Atari delayed the release of Alone in the Dark until June to give the development team time to sort out some bugs and add additional polish. The Xbox 360, Wii, PC and PlayStation 2 versions are now scheduled for a June 24th release here in the States, and a June 20th release in Europe. The PS3 version is to follow.
