Ex-Gizmondo executive Bo Stefan Eriksson says he is too busy to meet with British investigators, a move that may end up with him being extradited to the UK.
Eriksson is one of three people of interest for British liquidators conducting the investigation into the collapse of Gizmondo, reports The Nordic Link. One of the investigative team, James Hunt, says that the investigation has "some very serious questions" for Gizmondo director Peter Ulf, legal counsel Leon Daniel, and Eriksson.
Although Eriksson has said he has nothing to hide, he has yet to schedule a time to meet with the investigators. Hunt is willing to be patient, but if Eriksson continues to dodge his responsibilities, "There are remedies for the High Court that we will seek." Remedies such as a warrant for Eriksson's arrest, which could lead to his extradition.
"The full force of the law would be used to uncover what truly happened," said Hunt.
Gizmondo declared bankruptcy about a month before Eriksson was thrust into the international spotlight for crashing a Ferrari Enzo on the Pacific Coast Highway and blaming it on a mystery man named
Dietrich. Wired has an in-depth report on the whole story, which is so bizarre it's hard to believe it actually happened.
Another Gizmondo executive, Carl Freer, cooperated fully with the authorities and has since been excluded from the investigation. He plans to relaunch Gizmondo later this year.
