In Behind the Memes, Underwire introduces you to web celebs who have created some of the internet's biggest buzzes. The cewebrities profiled will be in attendance at ROFLCon, an event billed as "group dissection of internet culture." ROFLCon happens Friday and Saturday in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Justine Ezarik, aka iJustine, is one of the most recognizable people on the ROFLcon roster. Ezarik (pictured) found web stardom last May when she strapped a camera to her head and began "lifecasting," or streaming video of her life 'round the clock. Legions of fans logged on to see her at work, play and everything in between.
In August 2007, she created a video of a 300-page iPhone bill she received, and it ricocheted around the net, gathering more than a million views and cementing her place among bona fide meme masters.
And iJustine's still going strong: She continues to make appearances on web shows, and she creates, edits and shoots comedy videos -- generating a sizable fan base in the process. Now she's got her eyes set on relaunching her blog, developing a series of web shows and picking a new home base for her operations.
Underwire caught up with the web-savvy techinista during her recent trip to San Francisco.
