AUSTIN, Texas – Who knew web surfers drank beer?
Opera Software, that's who. Register for the interactive track at South by Southwest and you'll get a bag stuffed with swag – magazines, CDs, fliers and a few geeky gems.
The coolest: An Opera beer koozie (pictured). This backs up the "most forward-thinking browser developer" shout-out for Opera by Compiler, Underwire's sister blog.
Other sweet geek gimmes: 3-D glasses from the DIY gurus at Maker Faire/Make/Craft, a coder-oriented Games & Puzzles book from O'Reilly Media, a guitar pick from Fuze Beverages and a little Chinese-take-out box containing fortune cookies from Adobe Systems (the fortune inside the swaggy snacks: "I'd totally drag you onto my workspace.")
Soon the panels (and the parties) start.
