To help you better understand your character's motivation in its upcoming sci fi/horror title Dead Space, Electronic Arts is developing an animated prequel movie with Starz Media's Film Roman, the studio best known for its work on The Simpsons and King of the Hill* *.

The movie serves as a bridge between the action in the Dead Space comics and that of the game, and will premiere on broadcast TV, then DVD, to coincide with the game's release this Halloween.

"With the video game, comic book and now animated movie, Dead Space has become a true multimedia brand. Each of these elements delivers the story to new audiences and tells it from different aspects and perspectives," said Dead Space's executive producer, Glen Schofield.

Film Roman, which also has projects in development for two other unnamed EA properties, is producing the Dead Space animated movie in conjunction with Korea's Digital Tetra, who produced the animated TV series Psi-Kix.
