Called the Dunnington (pictured above in Yorkshire), it will among the last of the Core chips (Core2Duo etc.), and proves thoroughly that now the Megahertz war is over: it's all about the cores.

The Core series will eventually be superseded by the Nehalem, a multithreaded architecture capable of, you've guessed it, eight cores per chip. The first 45nm Nehalems will also be available later this year.
