The controversial film, Fitna, juxtaposes passages from the Koran with graphic footage of terrorist attacks. Dutch politician-turned-filmmaker Geert Wilders released his 15-minute video via LiveLeak despite concerns voiced by the Dutch government and international organizations.

The Dutch government, perhaps fearing a backlash from angry Muslims similar to the riots that followed publication of cartoons that mocked Muhammad, has reported a moderate response to the release of Fitna.

Jan Peter Balkenende, prime minister of The Netherlands, has condemned the film, saying Fitna wrongly equates Islam with violence. In a January interview with Fox News, filmmaker Wilders said he has "big problems with Islam, with the ideology and religion."
