SAN FRANCISCO – Roving geek icons are part of the fun of WonderCon – fans dying to meet pop culture staples like Peter Mayhew, the actor who played Chewbacca the Wookiee in Star Wars, ororiginal Incredible Hulk Lou Ferrigno, get their chance each year at the comic convention.
Fat Momma, the runner-up from the first season of Stan Lee's reality show, Who Wants to Be a Superhero?, was on par with some of the most popular personalities in attendance, drawing a sizeable, excited crowd of kids and adults alike eager for a handshake and a photograph. Fat Momma greeted fans on the convention floor in her homemade hot pink-and-silver superheroine costume, equipped with her trademark utility belt of frosted doughnuts.
Fat Momma, real name Nell Wilson, won audiences over with her sweet charisma and straight-forward, earnest approach to the show. In case you missed the chance to get an autographed copy of the just-released Fat Momma comic, she'll be hitting up several of the smaller comic conventions around the country.
