Some thoughts upon driving our new Smart car(Cabriolet edition) home from the dealer:

  • To shift or let the car shift. This will be the question as we adjust to the duaP2250594l-mode transmission. Which does seem a bit balky in the low gears.
  • Boy, that's a lot of moonroof for such a tiny car. A bit disorienting to have that much visual information flooding my periphery.
  • I could probably be a good 6 inches taller than my 6 feet and still fit comfortably inside. First car I've owned in ages where I won't be sliding the seat back all the way.
  • Love that hill assist that keep the car from rolling backwards on a slope. Even works on the mountaineering assault required to get to our house.
  • No spare tire! Instead they give you some sealant goo and a mini-compressor.
