Microsoft's acquisition of Danger, the folks that make the software for the Sidekick PDA, has ordinarily calm analysts and writersfantasizing about a Zunephone again. The questionable formula seems to be: Newly acquired mobile creidbility + burning desire to knock the iPhone down a peg or or two = a phone that looks and acts like a flash-based Zune.
My problem with this is that, yes, Microsoft may well have eyes on another chunk of the mobile market. But if it wants to make inroads there, it's going to need to hitch itself to a brighter star than the Zune. Xphone, perhaps? NotVistaphone?
