Rainydayz_cover Amplive’s Radiohead"Rainydayz Remixes" project apparently hit a snag when the Oakland-based producer was contacted by Radiohead representatives asking him to cease and desist its release because he hadn’t cleared the concept with the band.

An agreement has now been reached, according to Amplive (video), and the entire album is now available on his website.

In an email sent today to people who had registered to receive the remix album for free by proving that they had purchased In Rainbows, Amplive also made it clear that Radiohead had nothing to do with the project.  (His doctored up photo of Thom Yorke watching him play a keyboard may have contributed to the confusion.)

While Amp acknowledges that he probably should have contacted Radiohead(who were not involved in the project) to seek approval prior to makinghis interpretations publicly available, an agreement has been reachedbetween all involved parties and Amplive has been granted permission torelease Rainydayz Remixes for free to the general public.

As of today, the whole album is available as a zip file.

In addition, two tracks are available for streaming and adding to Facebook profiles via iLike.  Over the next eight days, the rest of the songs will appear there.

Rainydayz_back All of the instrumentation on the album comes from In Rainbows.  In addition to Thom Yorke’s manipulated vocals, the album includes mixed-in vocals from Too $hort, MC Zumbi of Zion I, Chali2na of Jurassic 5, Codany Holiday, and Del The Funky Homosapien.

Working my way through my first listen, "All I Need" is particularly strong, the redone vocals on "15 Stepz" are a hoot, it’s well-made, and the concept is interesting.

Come on, give it a download… What do you think?
