For a change, Microsoft appears to be going out of its way to make nice with customers, in this case those who advance-ordered the Valentine's Day Red version of the 80GB Zune. Turns out this space wasn't the only party to doubt demand for such a curious token of l'amour, so there won't be sufficient inventory to fill all orders by the Thursday holiday.

In a letter to the SOL customers, Microsoft apologized profusely for the delay and offered to make good by sending out Red Zunes as fast as it can and refunding the entire $250 price for those whose orders were delayed.
