The head of high-end camera maker Leica, which has been having a bit of a difficult transition into the digital world, has been sacked, portending further delays for a new entry in the company's M series. CEO Steven K. Lee presided over several recent blunders at Leica, most notably theintroduction of the glitch-prone M8.
Chairman Andreas Kaufman will take over at the end of the month, and one of his first jobs, according to a company flak, will be to "review all options for the M system's future."
Translation: Don't hold your breath for that anticipated full-frame M9.
