"Freeze-ins," or the choreographed stunts by hundreds of amateur improv participants simultaneously freezing in a public space at a pre-arranged time, are springing up around the globe.
(The clip featured right shows an estimated 1,000 people frozen at London’s Trafalger Square last week.)
This wave of frozen flash mobs were inspired by Improv Everywhere’s frozen performance at New York’s Grand Central station last month. The rash of duplicate events are coordinated worldwide by satellite IE groups, ranging from San Francisco to Sweden and the Netherlands.
