Epic's Mark Rein has quickly shot down the rumor that the new issue of GamePro would be announcing Gears of War 2.
A small Gears of War logo under the words "Xbox 360 Special Report" on the magazine's cover led many to believe/hope/wish that GamePro would have the scoop on the sequel, but Rein's succinct post on Gears' official forums quickly ended such speculation.
"It is complete nonsense. We have not announced a sequel to Gears of War to Gamepro or anyone else for that matter," he said.
It's thought that Epic will officially announce Gears of Wars 2 at GDC, and that it will be revealed to be a card battling game. I may have made that last part up. It would be a great prank to play on the press, though, wouldn't it?
