Not that there are many hospitable deserts out there, but the point is that lots of things are trying to kill you. Gila monsters, wasps, black widow spiders, and people will all try to chomp, squish, or sting you out of existence as you explore the desert environment.

Developer Rainbow Studios calls Deadly Creatures "a creepy cinematic thrill ride," with "brutal motion-controlled combat, a dark compelling story and some of the best visuals to date on the Wii." Publisher THQ promises that the game is "raising the bar for all 3rd party Wii titles," which, let's be honest, wouldn't be terribly difficult at this point.

It's certainly going to stand out amongst the bevy of candy-colored family-friendly fare that's more common in the Wii library, but I'm still a bit dubious about this one. Deadly Creatures is due out later this year.
