On a recent conference call, EA's John Riccitiello announced that the company has decided to delay Mercenaries 2 until fiscal 2009. The delay will allow time for "additional polish" that will "build a better consumer experience."

Battlefield Bad Company has also been delayed until fiscal 2009 for similar reasons.

It's not all bad news in the house of EA, though. According to EA's Warren Jensen, Skate outsold Tony Hawk by almost two-to-one, "despite the fact that we launched on three fewer platforms."

Need for Speed Pro Street and The Simpsons Game also sold like crazy, moving 5.5 million and 4 million units during the quarter, respectively.
