The DP1, Sigma's near-mythic compact camera debut of the Foveon image sensor, is apparently quite real. Amazon has started taking pre-orders for the long-awaited shooter. It's $800 (list price $1,000), which ought to make it reasonably competitive with high-end compacts such as Canon's G9, and is listed for release March 25. Most amazingly, there's not a single review posted yet!
